RCCG Implements Ban on Non-Members Preaching; Adeboye Threatens Sanctions for Violations
The leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has taken a decisive step by prohibiting the invitation and preaching of external preachers, speakers, and ministers who are not affiliated with the church.
This directive was communicated through a memo titled ‘Invitation of Guest Ministers in RCCG,’ dated January 5, 2024. The memo, signed by Pastor Oladele Balogun, Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Admin), was disseminated to continental overseers, deputy continental overseers, assistant continental overseers/pastors l/c of regions/provinces worldwide.
The memo emphasized that any parish intending to host a guest minister, speaker, or preacher must ensure that the individual is a recognized member of the RCCG. Furthermore, the church, led by General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye, issued a stern warning that any leader who violates this directive will face severe sanctions.
Referring to a previous memo dated December 14, 2023, the church reiterated its stance, stating, “No external preacher, speaker, or minister should be permitted on any of our altars or platforms.”
The memo concluded by stressing that ministers who defy these directives will be subject to severe disciplinary measures, potentially leading to their removal from ministerial duties within the mission. The church urged all its members to adhere to these guidelines, effective immediately.
