Protesters Carry Russian Flags in Kano Streets, Hold Special Prayers

In Kano, the fifth day of protests against bad governance saw demonstrators taking to the streets with Russian flags and others engaging in special prayers across the state.

In addition to the street demonstrations, several youths gathered in locations like Riminkebe in Ungogo Local Government Area, as well as Sagagi and Jaen in Kano Municipal, to hold special prayers. Mubarak Riminkebe, one of the organizers, mentioned that they are turning to God for divine intervention amidst the country’s numerous challenges. He also noted that they plan to incorporate fasting alongside the prayers.

Sanusi Bature, the spokesperson for Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, clarified that these protesters are not affiliated with the government. He emphasized that genuine protesters have already submitted their grievances, and Governor Yusuf is working diligently to forward these concerns to President Bola Tinubu.
