Protect Nigeria’s Reputation by Withdrawing Your Lawsuit Against Tinubu in US Court, APC Youth Leader Begs Atiku
Hyde Kalu, a prominent youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has made a heartfelt plea to former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, urging him to discontinue the lawsuit he filed against President Bola Tinubu in the United States.
Atiku’s lawsuit, which was filed in a US district court, seeks to compel Chicago State University, Tinubu’s alma mater, to release the President’s academic records. However, Kalu, in a statement released on Monday, implored Atiku to allow the Nigerian judiciary to handle any disputes arising from the 2023 presidential election.
Kalu emphasized that Nigeria’s global reputation is at stake due to the ongoing legal dispute in the United States. He passionately appealed to Atiku to consider the embarrassment that this case is causing the nation.
In his statement, Kalu stated, “Atiku is a statesman, and it is not in contention that he has the love of Nigeria at heart. I am sure that no Nigerian is happy with the way our country has been subjected to ridicule over the court ruling in the United States. For the love of this country and to spare Nigerians the shame of how this process may end, it is important that we plead with Atiku to drop that case and not allow us to wash our dirty linens in public.”
Kalu further expressed his belief that, as patriots, there is a more dignified way to resolve this matter and protect Nigeria’s reputation. He acknowledged that the presidential election has already concluded with the emergence of a president and appealed to Atiku to consider the well-established friendship between him and President Tinubu.
This unexpected appeal from a prominent APC youth leader adds a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing legal battle, raising questions about its potential impact on Nigeria’s international image and political landscape.
