President Tinubu Returns to Nigeria Today After European Tour — Presidency Confirms
In a statement released by the Presidency, it has been confirmed that President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by his aides, is set to return to Nigeria from Europe today. This announcement comes after Tinubu’s prolonged absence, which sparked speculation regarding his whereabouts.
President Tinubu’s journey began over two weeks ago with a visit to the Kingdom of The Netherlands for a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Following this, he attended a special World Economic Forum (WEF) session in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between April 28 and 29. However, his return to Nigeria was delayed, leading to conjecture about his travel itinerary.
The delay prompted various reports suggesting alternate destinations, including London and France, for private visits. Nonetheless, the Presidency has confirmed that President Tinubu’s return to the country is imminent.
Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, previously stated that Tinubu’s visit to The Netherlands was at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, underscoring the official nature of the trip.
The announcement of Tinubu’s return is expected to allay concerns and speculation regarding his absence.
