President Tinubu Recalls Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK, Sarafa Isola
President Bola Tinubu has issued a recall for Sarafa Isola, Nigeria’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK). This decision was communicated through a formal letter dated August 31, 2023, by Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The letter, addressed to Mr. Isola, conveyed President Tinubu’s decision to end his tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom. It stated, “By this communication, you are now expected to commence the process of winding down your affairs, and take formal leave of your host government within sixty days and to return to Nigeria by 31 October, 2023, at the latest.”
Expressing gratitude on behalf of President Tinubu, Minister Tuggar thanked Ambassador Isola for his dedicated service and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.
Ambassador Sarafa Isola was appointed as Nigeria’s high commissioner to the UK in January 2021 during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Prior to his diplomatic role, Isola had a distinguished career and had served as the Minister for Mines and Steel Development under the late former President Musa Yar’Adua.
