President Tinubu Appoints Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as MD of Nigerian Ports Authority
President Bola Tinubu has named Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), marking a significant leadership change at one of Nigeria’s critical maritime agencies.
Dr. Dantsoho, a seasoned professional with a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master’s degree from Cardiff University, both in the United Kingdom, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to his appointment, he held various key positions within the NPA, including Assistant General Manager and Port Manager of Onne Port.
In addition to Dr. Dantsoho’s appointment, President Tinubu has also approved Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman of the NPA Board. Senator Adeyeye, a distinguished lawyer, journalist, and former Minister of State for Works, is expected to bring his extensive legal and political acumen to steer the NPA towards greater operational efficiency.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu emphasized his confidence in the new leadership team, urging them to prioritize excellence in service delivery to enhance port operations and drive positive outcomes for the maritime industry.
The appointments of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho and Senator Adedayo Adeyeye are seen as strategic moves aimed at revitalizing the Nigerian Ports Authority to meet the growing demands of the nation’s maritime sector.
