President Biden Pardons Son Hunter, Citing Unfair Treatment in Legal Cases

President Joe Biden has granted a pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, following his convictions in two separate federal cases earlier this year. The White House made the announcement on Sunday evening.

Hunter Biden, 54, had pleaded guilty to a felony tax charge in September and was also convicted of making a false statement in a gun case. In a statement, President Biden confirmed the pardon, stating, “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter.” He added, “From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”

The president further emphasized, “It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.”
