Poverty in Nigeria Not a Source of Shame but a Challenge to Overcome – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has called upon members of his cabinet and senior civil service personnel to work together, rewrite Nigeria’s story, and usher in a new era of economic prosperity. This appeal came during the conclusion of a three-day cabinet retreat held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
In his address, President Tinubu secured a commitment from the attendees to serve the interests of the Nigerian people and collaborate as a cohesive team in pursuit of the nation’s advancement.
President Tinubu emphasized, “Since we are one family and one nation, and we are on this journey together to reshape the narrative and foster economic prosperity for our country; are we ready?”
Furthermore, he underlined, “Poverty is not a cause for shame, but it is not something we should passively accept. If you scrutinize our history, you will find traces of poverty within it, but we must find a way to uplift ourselves from this situation. Therefore, it falls upon you and me to navigate this ship away from poverty. We have a substantial amount of work ahead of us.”
President Tinubu’s call for unity and his unwavering commitment to tackle poverty and promote economic growth in Nigeria resonated with his cabinet and civil service personnel. The collective effort to overcome poverty and redefine the nation’s future now stands as a prominent objective for Nigeria’s leadership.
