Police Repel Terrorist Attack in Borno, Recover Weapons in Other States
The Nigeria Police Force has successfully repelled an attempted terrorist attack on the Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State. The incident occurred on November 28, 2024, around 1:00 a.m. According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, police operatives demonstrated strong resistance, leaving several attackers wounded. One officer sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
In a separate operation, the Sokoto State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, raided black spots and bandit camps on November 25. The operation resulted in the recovery of AK-47 rifles and loaded magazines. The bandits fled upon detecting the operatives, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
Additionally, Delta State police operatives intercepted suspected kidnappers in Asaba on November 28. Following a gunfight, the suspects fled into a nearby bush with injuries. A search of their operational vehicle revealed three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action guns, an AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of live ammunition, and 21 live cartridges.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun commended the officers for their bravery and commitment. He urged them to remain vigilant and steadfast in combating criminal activities across the nation.
