Police Arrests Officer Who Shot Lagos Lawyer Bolanle Raheem Dead
Lagos State Police Command said the policeman that shot a lawyer Bolanle Raheem has been arrested.
The unnamed policeman attached to the Ajah Police Station and his team reportedly tried to stop Raheem and her family members as they drove back home from a Christmas Day church service.
It was gathered that the trigger-happy policeman shot the vehicle while trying to make a U-turn under the Ajah Bridge.
Bolanle was reportedly hit by the gunshot and rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin in a tweet on Boxing Day said the incident was avoidable and unfortunate.
He disclosed that the policeman “that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody.
“They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation.
“The Lagos State Police Command condoles with the family, friends and colleagues of Barrister Bolanle Raheem.”
He disclosed that Lagos police commissioner CP Abiodun Alabi “has been in touch with the family and the Nigerian Bar Association since yesterday and has given firm assurances that justice will definitely prevail.”
