” Please Come, Continue Your Father’s Legacy in Lagos” – Middle Belt Group Begs Seyi Tinubu
The Middle Belt Youths in Lagos have endorsed Seyi Tinubu, urging him to run for governor of Lagos State in 2027 to continue the legacy of his father, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group highlighted his inclusive approach to governance, which they believe mirrors his father’s efforts in uniting Lagos across tribal and religious divides.
During a press conference held at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, key figures from the Middle Belt Forum, including Dr. Stanley Augustine Kavwam, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, and Capt. Brent Kane, National Youth Leader, emphasized that Seyi Tinubu has shown a commitment to empowering diverse communities. They described him as a leader capable of managing Lagos State’s multi-ethnic population effectively.
The group praised Seyi Tinubu’s ability to transcend tribal and religious boundaries, calling him a “detribalized and accommodating individual.” According to their statement, his leadership would ensure equitable representation and protection of interests for all communities, including the often-marginalized Middle Belt residents in Lagos.
“Who else will Lagosians support if Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governor? He knows no tribe, no religion, and no gender bias. He believes in inclusivity, making him an ideal candidate for a state as diverse as Lagos,” the group declared. They highlighted his unique personal qualities, noting his marriage to a woman from the Southeast as further proof of his ability to foster unity among Nigeria’s regions.
The group also applauded Seyi Tinubu’s humanitarian efforts, citing his swift response to the devastating floods in Borno State, where he mobilized resources and provided substantial relief. They described his actions as rare among children of prominent leaders, underscoring his exceptional character.
They further noted his inclusive work environment, stating, “Seyi Tinubu’s office is a melting pot of all tribes and religions, reflecting his dedication to national integration and harmony.”
With backing from the Middle Belt Forum’s national body in Abuja, the Lagos chapter expressed confidence in Seyi Tinubu’s ability to address tribal and social grievances while promoting youth empowerment. They concluded by calling on him to embrace the challenge of leadership, declaring, “It is now or never!”
