Plateau: Gunmen Kill Six Persons In Riyom Town
Six persons were again killed in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State when gunmen stormed the area.
The incident, according to a source, happened in RahossSambak village of Rahoss, saying that a car knocked down someone at about 7 pm on Tuesday.
He added that the villagers decided to bury the accident victim that same night following the bad condition of the corpse.
The source explained that when the mourners were returning home, they ran into an ambush where two persons were shot, stressing that while trying to pick up the corpse of the villagers of those killed, the attackers attacked them and killed four of them.
He lamented, “If such an attack could happen in the heart of Riyom town, it shows that people are really not safe here.”
Alabo Alfred, the state police command spokesman, did not respond to calls made to his phone to confirm the incident.
