‘Peter Obi’s Only Major Achievement as Anambra Governor Was Wearing Ojukwu’s Symbol for 8 Years’ – Oshiomhole

Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has launched a stinging critique of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections. Oshiomhole, in a recent statement, accused Obi of lacking the moral authority to criticize political defections to the APC, particularly given his own history of switching political affiliations.

Oshiomhole emphasized that Obi’s eight-year tenure as the governor of Anambra State was marked by little more than the symbolic gesture of wearing the emblem of the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. He questioned what tangible accomplishments Obi had to show for his time in office, suggesting that the symbol was his primary focus during his governorship.

The former APC chairman also pointed to Obi’s political journey, highlighting his moves from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party and back again, before ultimately aligning himself with the “Obidient Movement.” Oshiomhole expressed confusion over the nature of this movement, wondering whether it had transformed into a political party.

In his remarks, Oshiomhole underscored that he and President Bola Tinubu are among the few politicians in Nigeria who can claim never to have defected, urging those critical of political defections to consider their own history.
