PDP Lagos State Chapter Ask NUJ, NBA and NMA to wade into #EndSars Agitation:
The People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter has advised that Christopher Isiguzo, the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Olumide Akpata, the President Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and Innocent Ujah, the President of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) should please step in on behalf of the Youths of the nation, with a view to leading them to the negotiating table with the Federal Government.
The State Chairman, Engr Adedeji Doherty said that having monitored the turn of events over the past few weeks, we have noticed that the protesting Youths have no identifiable leader, and we believe their demands should be well articulated and presented to the appropriate authorities.
We are however against the engagement of any Political party, Political group, Civil society organisation, NGO or the Labour union to take on the job on their behalf.
We are stressing on the NUJ, NBA and NMA because we believe these institutions are at least credible enough to represent them well enough to achieve the desired goals.
We are also very concerned about achieving results on behalf of these innocent young stars and especially in honor of those Young Hero’s that have paid the ultimate price for standing up for their rights.
Finally, we believe that majority of these demands could be accomplished especially as the demands are not alien to the government as most of these demands have been made in the past by many other groups.
