PDP Disciplinary Committee Summons Anyanwu, Ortom

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Disciplinary Committee has summoned Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s national secretary, and former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to appear before it. This was confirmed by the committee chairman, High Chief Tom Ikimi, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.

According to Ikimi, the committee convened on February 5, 2025, at Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja, where it reviewed five petitions concerning party discipline. While three petitions involving key members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were set aside to avoid disrupting ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party, the committee resolved to investigate petitions against Ortom and Anyanwu, along with ten other individuals.

The affected members have been summoned to appear before the committee on February 12, 2025, at Legacy House. Both the petitioners and their witnesses, as well as the accused members and their witnesses, are expected to attend, with formal notices already issued.

Ikimi reiterated that the disciplinary committee operates under Section 57(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) and remains committed to upholding discipline and restoring the party’s integrity. He urged party members with grievances to utilize the committee’s processes to address their concerns through due process.
