“Pay N300 Million or We’ll Kill the Victims and Launch More Attacks,” Bandits Warn Kwara Community

Armed bandits who abducted 10 residents of Isapa in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have demanded a N300 million ransom, giving the community seven days to meet their demands. The kidnappers, who struck on November 25, 2025, warned that failure to pay would result in dire consequences, including another attack on the community and the possible killing of the abductees.

The head hunter of Isapa, Mr. A. Adeyeye, confirmed that the kidnappers initially asked for N500 million but later reduced their demand to N300 million during negotiations. He said the community offered N5 million, which was rejected. “The bandits called us on Sunday and said they had reduced the ransom to N300 million. We pleaded with them to accept N5 million, but they refused. They said we have one week to meet their demand or else they would kill the abductees. They also threatened to attack the community again, this time killing many people,” Adeyeye stated.

The bandits reportedly claimed responsibility for a previous attack on the Ejiba community in Kogi State, raising fears of further violence in the area.
