Paul Chukwuma Unveils Running Mate for Anambra Governorship Election
Young Progressive Party (YPP) governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8 election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has officially named Chief Uzu Okagbue, a former aide to ex-Governor Willie Obiano, as his running mate. The announcement was made on Friday at the YPP state secretariat in Udoka, Awka.
Speaking during the unveiling, Chukwuma described Okagbue as a “refined gentleman” and a “true representation of one with the spirit of Anambra.” He said the choice followed extensive consultations with party leaders, religious figures, his campaign team, family, and supporters. According to Chukwuma, Okagbue is a patriotic and dependable figure who shares his progressive vision for the state and is committed to restoring Anambra’s legacy of excellence.
In his acceptance speech, Okagbue expressed readiness to support Chukwuma in delivering the party’s development agenda. He pledged to work behind the scenes to implement their shared manifesto and bring renewed hope and better governance to Anambra. He added that the coming months would prove that Chukwuma is the best candidate in the race and promised to contribute his own record of delivery to the campaign.
Chukwuma, a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), exited the party following disagreements over its primary election process.
