Pastor Chibuzor Shares Update on Autistic Son’s Conduct After Marriage

Founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Pastor Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has reported a noticeable change in the behaviour of his adopted autistic son, Aboy Chibuzor, just a day after his marriage.

The cleric shared that Aboy, who was recently married off to an older woman, now appears calmer and has begun feeding himself without assistance. He also posted photos comparing the young man’s earlier behaviour with his current demeanour, describing the difference as significant.

According to him, Aboy, who previously struggled with uncontrolled sexual behaviour and communication challenges, has shown signs of improved composure following the marriage. In a social media post, he wrote that it was the first time he was seeing him calm and not reacting as before.

The development has sparked mixed reactions online. While some observers interpret the change as a sign of stability or adjustment, others have raised concerns about consent, noting that Aboy’s condition may limit his ability to fully understand or agree to marriage arrangements.

Critics argue that individuals with severe cognitive or developmental disabilities require specialised care rather than marital arrangements, while supporters of the pastor’s decision say the intention was to provide structure and support for his wellbeing.
