Party Crisis: NNPP Removes Kano State Chairman Two Weeks After Re-Election

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has dismissed its State Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, from the party.

The decision, endorsed by 27 ward executive members, was reached during the ward’s second executive meeting held two weeks after the recent general election. The meeting was chaired by Ward Chairman Shuaibu Hassan, with Secretary Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa in attendance.

According to the resolution, Dungurawa was removed for allegedly causing divisions within the party, instigating internal conflicts, failing to pay party dues, and making derogatory comments about the Governor of Kano State. The ward executives described these actions as detrimental to the party’s image and cohesion.

The leadership emphasized that the decision complies with the party constitution and reflects a commitment to discipline, unity, and internal cohesion. Copies of the resolution have been sent to the party’s Local Government, State, and National headquarters for further action. The document was also forwarded to the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Yusuf.

Ward executives stated that the dismissal serves as a warning against the misuse of party positions and reaffirmed their loyalty to the NNPP leadership. They pledged continued support to Governor Yusuf and stressed their commitment to the party’s stability and progress at all levels.
