Panic on Kwara Roads as Armed Bandits Attack Commuters on Eruku–Egbe Route
Terrorists are currently attacking travellers along the Eruku–Egbe road in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, causing panic and bringing traffic to a standstill. Vehicles, including buses and long trucks, have been forced to stop as commuters scramble for safety. Eyewitnesses report that the attackers remain active in the area and have urged travellers to avoid the route until security forces intervene.
This latest assault follows a similar incident along the Ayere–Kabba road in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, where gunmen targeted a commercial bus on Sunday evening. One passenger was killed and several others sustained gunshot injuries, according to local sources. Residents say the Ayere–Kabba route has grown increasingly dangerous due to frequent attacks by armed gangs operating between Kogi and Kwara states.
