Oyo Man Charged With ‘Defrauding’ Pastor
A man, Seyi Oyedele (21), was on Thursday brought before an Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly defrauding a pastor to the tune of N74,000 and threatening his life.
The prosecutor, Insp Gbemi Adedeji, told the court that the defendant between September and October, 2023, in the Moniya area of Ibadan presented himself as a corps member and defrauded Pastor Adebanjo Ajayi of his N74,000 “for clearance and upkeep”, threatening to post the pastor’s picture on social media if he refused to assist him financially.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and adjourned the case to April 3.
