Otti Appoints Ukoha as New Press Secretary
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has appointed Mr. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha as the new Chief Press Secretary, replacing Mr. Kazie Ukoh. This announcement was made known by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing following the state’s Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Otti.
According to Prince Kanu, the appointment of Mr. Ukoha is part of Governor Otti’s strategic move to reinvigorate his administration’s media team. Mr. Ukoha brings a wealth of experience in advocacy and media management, promising to enhance communication efforts under Governor Otti’s leadership.
In addition to the personnel changes, Governor Otti’s administration has shown a robust commitment to education. The Executive Council approved the payment of school fees for Abia students stranded at the SRI SAI Indian University, a situation left unresolved by the previous administration. This decision underscores Otti’s dedication to supporting educational opportunities for Abia students both locally and internationally.
Furthermore, the Governor has authorized the disbursement of bursaries to Abia students enrolled in various law schools across the country. This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens and promote academic excellence among students from the state.
Highlighting further strides in education, Prince Kanu noted that under Otti’s leadership, Abia State University, Uturu, has secured accreditation for 19 new programs. This achievement reflects Otti’s ongoing efforts to elevate the standards of education within the state.
