Osun tribunal verdict jaundiced, will be reversed at appeal, Doherty assures Lagos PDP, S/West faithful
Chairman of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Engr. Adedeji Doherty, has described as suspect and jaundiced the tribunal verdict which upturned the victory of Gov. Ademola Adeleke in the 2022 Osun State Governorship election, assuring members and supporters of the party in Lagos and across the South West zone that it’s a compromised judgement that would be reversed at the Appeal Court.
Engr. Doherty says that Gov. Adeleke remains the Chief Executive of Osun State while the defeated former Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola and his failed political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) continue to labour in vain at the courts.
Reacting to the tribunal verdict in a statement e-signed on his behalf by Mr Muka Popoola, the head of DD Media Team, Engr Doherty said the so-called majority judgement, by its context, overlooked certain critical submissions that should have guided the tribunal judges in dismissing the case instituted by the defeated former Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola as lacking in merit, but instead chose the sentimental path of helping the failed All Progressives Congress (APC) to once again steal the popular mandate given to Gov. Adeleke by the people of Osun State.
Doherty, who is the immediate past State Chairman and former governorship aspirant in Lagos PDP, recalls a similar incident when the people of Osun State voted overwhelmingly voted for Gov. Adeleke in 2018 only for the mandate to be stolen from him through political manipulations in collaboration with certain dark forces in INEC and the judiciary.
Doherty charged the PDP members and supporters in Lagos State not to be distracted with judicial shenanigans unfolding in Osun State but remain resolute in their avowed decision to deliver massive votes to the. PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as well as vote out the failed APC administration in the state by installing Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran a.k.a Jandor as the next governor of Lagos State.
He said the jaundiced tribunal verdict would not safe the ruling APC from crushing defeat in the forthcoming general elections.
Doherty said that the verdict will not stop the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, from dealing massive blow on the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other candidates on the tickets of the ruling party in Lagos State and across the South West zone.
Imploring Gov. Adeleke to remain focused in his service to Osun State, Doherty said his allegiance is to the people of the state who massively elected him as their governor and they will continue to stand by him against the vicious attacks of the failed APC.
