Osun Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Beheading Father in Shocking Farm Incident
The Osun State Police Command has arrested a man, known as “Saudi,” on allegations of beheading his father on a farm in Ilusi village. The incident has left villagers in shock, marking a rare and gruesome occurrence in the community.
The father, locally referred to as Baale, was reported missing after failing to return home from the farm on Thursday. Concerned villagers organized a search party, and on Friday, the group discovered his headless body covered in palm leaves.
Ismail Olaolu, a local source, told Vanguard that suspicion quickly fell on Baale’s son, Saudi, who had accompanied his father to the farm the previous day. According to Olaolu, after being questioned by villagers, the son confessed to the killing. A motorcycle and cocoa harvest belonging to the deceased were found near the body, heightening suspicions.
Following his confession, the suspect was handed over to police for further investigation. Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson for the Osun State Police, confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
