The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has accused former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole of persuading him to join in the move to remove Obaseki from office.
Shaibu said he had pleaded with Oshiomhole to let go of any grudges he had against Obaseki because the governor was performing well in the state and that there are evidences to show for it, but Oshiomhole wouldn’t budge.
He further stated that when Oshiomhole declared war on Obaseki, he promised the former governor that he will stand with his boss come what may. Shaibu alleged that Oshiomhole’s plans was to remove Obaseki, to pave way for him (Shaibu) to take over as governor, but he refused.
The Deputy Governor however pledged that he will do all he can to ensure that Obaseki is defended the same way he stood by Oshiomhole, when there were plans to unseat him.
Shaibu advised Oshiomole to stop all his intrigues and bickering. He further challenged him to come and test his popularity when the votes are to be cast.
