JUST IN: Tinubu Appoints Ken Nnamani, Pius Anyim, Philip Shaibu, 19 Others to Key Federal Positions
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals to key leadership positions across various federal government institutes, agencies, and commissions. The appointments were announced on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle @aonanuga1956.
Here is the full list of the appointees:
1. Senator Ken Nnamani (Enugu State) – Chairman, Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)
2. Philip Shaibu (Edo State) – Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Sports
3. Senator Pius Anyim (Ebonyi State) – Chairman, National Merit Award Committee
4. Omobolanle Akinyemi Obe (Ondo State) – Director-General, National Senior Citizens Centre, Abuja
5. Dr. Segun Aina (Osun State) – Director-General, Academic Staff College of Nigeria
6. Mr. Ayodele Olufemi (Kogi State) – Executive Director (Monitoring and Implementation), Nigeria–São Tomé Joint Development Authority
7. Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed (Osun State) – Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC)
8. Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir (Borno State) – Director-General, National Centre for Women Development
9. Senator Jalo Zarami (Yobe State) – Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission
10. Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu (Nasarawa State) – Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission
11. Momoh Jibril (Kogi State) – Board Member, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN)
12. Dr. Fatima Waziri-Azi (Kwara State) – Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP)
13. Engr. Ahmed Mustapha (Kano State) – Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency (REA)
14. Mrs. Grace Ekanem (Cross River State) – Executive Secretary, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education
15. Dr. Emeka Okafor (Anambra State) – Director-General, National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA)
16. Mr. Ibrahim Dikko (Kaduna State) – Managing Director, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT)
17. Mrs. Aisha Bello (Sokoto State) – Director-General, National Centre for Women Development
18. Mr. Chinedu Eze (Imo State) – Executive Secretary, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons
19. Dr. Musa Aliyu (Bauchi State) – Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR)
20. Mrs. Funke Adepoju (Lagos State) – Executive Secretary, National Lottery Trust Fund
21. Mr. Yakubu Abdullahi (Niger State) – Director-General, National Orientation Agency (NOA)
22. Mrs. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed (Kaduna State) – Chairperson, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)
These appointments are part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across federal institutions and promote inclusive governance. The appointees are expected to undergo the necessary screening and confirmation processes as stipulated by law.
