Ondo Varsity Female Student Found Dead in Uncompleted Building
A tragic incident has shocked the community of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, as the lifeless body of a female 500-level student was discovered in an uncompleted building early Monday morning. The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death.
The deceased, identified as Modupe Ayandare, also known as Com. Modesty, was a student in the Faculty of Agriculture. Her body was found around 4:00 a.m., shortly after she reportedly left a vigil.
Social media buzzed with reactions as an X user, @YemmieFash, shared a video of the scene. In the video, Ayandare was seen wearing a white celestial garment, kneeling with her head and body leaning against a wall. A rope, tied to a well fetcher and the building, appeared to be around her neck, raising suspicions about the nature of her death.
“This 500L student of AAUA was found dead this morning in Akungba; she was said to have left a vigil around 4:00 a.m. The circumstances surrounding her death look very suspicious; video and eyewitness accounts show that she did not commit suicide as presumed. I am calling on the @OndopoliceNG to critically investigate this matter, as this looks more like a case of murder. cc: @OfficialDSSNG, Princemoye1,” @YemmieFash tweeted alongside the video.
The Ondo State Police Command has acknowledged the report and stated that investigations are ongoing. “The case has been reported at AKUNGBA Division and the command is working on it. Thanks,” a police spokesperson disclosed.
As the investigation unfolds, the university community and the public await further details to determine whether Ayandare’s death was a result of foul play or self-harm.
