Ondo Guber: Jegede Clinches PDP Ticket
Mr. Eyitayo Jegede has emerged the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for October 10 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo state.,
Jegede, who was the party’s candidate in the 2016 gubernatorial election defeated his closest challenger, the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi in a keenly contested primary election held on Wednesday polling 888 votes to Ajayi’s 657.
Other aspirants include Eddy Olafeso who polled 175 votes, Banji Okunomo who polled 90 votes, Olabode Ayorinde who polled 95 votes, and Boluwaji Kunlere who polled 33 votes, Ebisemi Olusola who polled 29, Erewa Goody who polled 14.
A total of 2111 delegates participated in the election.
Jegede will face the incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in what is to be a rematch after he lost the 2016 contest to the later.
