OCM Demands Removal of Chief Vin Dike as Oraifite Community President General
The Oraifite Conscience Movement (OCM) has issued a stern ultimatum demanding the immediate resignation or removal of Chief Vin Dike from his position as President General of Oraifite Community, citing his alleged partisan conduct during the recent senatorial election rerun.
In a strongly-worded statement released by Comrade Chukwuneta Offor and Nkemjika Aloysius, the group accused Chief Dike of abandoning his role as a neutral community leader and engaging in divisive political activities that have brought shame to the Oraifite community.
The OCM’s most serious allegation centers on what they describe as an attempted invasion of the home of Sir Azuka Okwuosa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the senatorial rerun. According to the group, Chief Dike led thugs in an attack on the residence of Okwuosa and his younger brother, Sir Emeka Okwuosa, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
“The partisan stance exhibited by Chief Vin Dike during the last rerun is unbecoming of a community leader,” stated Comrade Offor. “His actions, including the attempted invasion of the Okwuosa family home with thugs, represent a dangerous escalation of political violence that has no place in our community.
A community leader who takes sides in political contests and resorts to violence has lost the moral authority to lead,” the statement concluded. “Chief Dike must do the honorable thing and step aside, or we will mobilize the community to remove him from office.”
The OCM also expressed particular frustration over what they see as the consequences of this political interference. The group lamented that the controversial rerun has cost an Oraifite son the opportunity to represent the community in the Nigerian Senate – a chance they believe may not come again for many years.
“This reckless politics has denied our community the rare opportunity of having one of our own in the upper legislative chamber,” Offor explained. “Such opportunities are few and far between for communities like ours, and to see it squandered due to the selfish political games of a few individuals is heartbreaking.”
In their statement, the OCM went further to identify what they termed the financiers of divisive politics in the community. Comrade Offor specifically named Chief Vin Dike and Sir Emeka Offor as the primary sponsors of what the group describes as “bad politics” that has polarized the community and undermined democratic processes.
The Oraifite Conscience Movement announced plans to formally petition various security agencies regarding the alleged attack on the Okwuosa family residence. The group indicated that they have gathered evidence of the incident and intend to seek official investigation and prosecution of those involved.
“We will not allow political thuggery to take root in our community,” declared Nkemjika Aloysius. “The appropriate security agencies will be formally notified of these criminal acts, and we expect swift action to be taken.”
