NYSC Declares Akwa Ibom Coordinator Missing
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the disappearance of Akwa Ibom State Coordinator, Mr. Okun Christopher, and driver, Mr. Daniel Effiong Asibong.
According to Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations, the two were abducted on Monday, July 29, 2024, while traveling between Delta and Akwa Ibom States for an official assignment. Despite extensive search efforts, their whereabouts remain unknown.
NYSC is actively engaging with the families of the missing individuals in hopes of obtaining any helpful information. Megwa urged anyone with information on their location to contact the nearest NYSC state secretariat, area office, national directorate headquarters in Abuja, or any police station or security agency.
The vehicle involved in the incident was a white official Hilux with registration number “27D31FG.”
Mr. Okun assumed his role as the 19th state coordinator of NYSC in Akwa Ibom in April 2024.
