Nweze, Tinubu’s Aide, Pledges Full South-East Inclusion in Conditional Cash Transfer Initiative

Mrs. Chioma Nweze, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the South East, has affirmed her commitment to ensuring the complete inclusion of the South-Eastern region in the ongoing verification process of the National Social Register. This initiative aims to distribute conditional cash transfers to 25 million impoverished families across Nigeria.

Following a meeting with Minister Betta Edu of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Nweze issued a statement reiterating her dedication to ensuring that the ongoing verification process accurately identifies and includes disadvantaged households in the South-Eastern zone.

Nweze also expressed her readiness to collaborate closely with Minister Edu to realize the Renewed Hope Agenda set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She stated in her press release, “The ongoing verification, initiated by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs last week, is designed to eliminate ‘ghost beneficiaries’ from the National Social Register. Our primary goal is to ensure that genuinely impoverished, needy, and vulnerable Nigerian families are the ones who benefit from conditional cash transfers.”

Nweze also called upon state governments, local government authorities, traditional leaders, community leaders, women, and youth leaders in the South-Eastern region to actively participate in the verification process. She emphasized the significance of ensuring that only deserving and needy families receive the assistance they require.
