Notorious Bandit Leader Kachallah Bugaje Renounces Crime, Releases 50 Victims

Notorious bandit leader Kachallah Bugaje has publicly renounced banditry, declaring his decision to abandon a life of crime. In a recently released video, Bugaje announced that he and 50 of his fighters have chosen to leave their criminal past behind.

The five-minute, 42-second video, shared by Security Analyst and Counter-Insurgency Expert Zagazola Makama, featured Bugaje stating that he now wishes to be called Zakiru Bugaje. He denounced kidnapping and theft, expressing deep remorse for his past actions.

Bugaje admitted to abducting over 50 individuals and demanding ransoms ranging from 10 million to 25 million naira. However, he claimed that he later released all the victims without collecting any money, attributing the decision to his fear of God. He repeatedly affirmed his commitment to change and called on other bandits to abandon criminal activities.

The former bandit leader also praised Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and urged those still engaged in banditry to seek a better path. In a significant gesture of his newfound repentance, he facilitated the release of 50 kidnapped victims, reuniting them with their families.
