Nollywood Veteran Zack Orji’s Health Improving, Receives VIP Visitors

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has reported positive developments in the health of renowned Nollywood actor Zack Orji, who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital in Abuja on New Year’s Eve.

According to Abubakar Yakubu, the National Secretary of AGN, Zack Orji, who was initially unable to walk or talk upon admission, has shown improvement. First Lady Remi Tinubu and the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, paid a visit to the ailing actor on January 1st during their hospital visit to welcome the first baby of the year.

Orji, seen in footage collapsing at his home’s toilet, has faced weeks of fatigue, rendering him unable to communicate or move. As of now, he has started speaking, marking a positive turn in his health.

The AGN secretary mentioned that medical tests have been conducted, and the guild will keep the public informed of any further developments. The cause of Orji’s health issues remains unclear.

Zack Orji, a respected director and film producer, gained political attention in 2022 when he declared support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections. Serving as the director of performing arts for the APC’s presidential campaign council, Orji played a prominent role in the political landscape.

The 63-year-old actor, known for his roles in iconic movies such as ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Iva,’ ‘Blood Sisters,’ and others, continued to make a mark in the industry with his recent appearances in films like ‘Black Harvest’ and ‘Alerte,’ where he showcased his versatile acting skills alongside Nollywood stalwarts Rita Edochie and Sani Danja. The AGN assures the public that updates on Zack Orji’s health will be shared as they unfold.
