No provision for Covid-19 vaccine in 2021 budget – Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed
Nigeria’s minister of finance, Zainab Ahmed has revealed that neither the federal government nor the Senate found it expedient to make adequate provisions for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines in the recently passed 2021 budget.
Despite records showing that Nigeria has tested only 0,5% (around one million) citizens, and has currently officially recorded about 103,000 confirmed cases with less than 1500 deaths, it is believed that these numbers are only so low because the current administration has handled the pandemic incompetently.
In recent weeks a second strain has hit hard at the Nigerian community and the prevalence of cases and high profile deaths has created room for anxiety.
