“No November Salary for Workers Without Valid Resident Registration Number” — State Govt

The Kwara State Government has announced that all public sector employees without a valid Residents’ Registration Number will not receive their November salary or bonuses. This directive was issued by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Kwara State’s Commissioner for Finance, in a statement released on Monday in Ilorin.

The statement emphasized that registration with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA) has been mandatory since July, aimed at enhancing government planning, resource management, and service delivery. According to Dr. Nuru, the KWSRRA registration system assigns a unique identity to each resident, promoting public safety and effective data management across the state.

Accountability and Transparency

Dr. Nuru underscored that the registration is crucial to Kwara State’s commitment to transparency and accountability in resource administration. She stated that the policy applies to all state employees, including those across the 16 local government areas, and will be enforced starting this month.

“Effective from November, workers who have not registered will not receive salary payments or bonuses,” the Commissioner said, highlighting the administration’s goal to ensure a comprehensive and accurate database that strengthens payroll and administrative integrity.

Importance of Data Integrity

With a reliable resident database, Dr. Nuru noted, the government can make better-informed decisions, manage resources efficiently, and ensure fair compensation for every eligible worker. This, she explained, is part of a broader effort to build trust in the government’s processes and improve service delivery for Kwara residents.

“All state employees who have not yet registered are advised to do so,” she urged, calling on unregistered staff to visit the nearest KWSRRA center to complete their enrollment as soon as possible.
