Nnamdi Kanu’s Wife Visits Detained IPOB Leader with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah
Uchechi Kanu, the wife of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, recently had the opportunity to visit her husband in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). Accompanied by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, and Kanu’s Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Uchechi expressed her gratitude for the visit during a live session on Radio Biafra.
The visit, which took place on April 16, marked a significant moment for Uchechi, who had previously been denied access to her husband by the DSS. She took the opportunity to extend her appreciation to Senator Ubah for his swift intervention in facilitating the visit. In her remarks, she also acknowledged the efforts of other Igbo politicians, governors, and political office holders who have shown concern for her husband’s plight.
Speaking to The Nation, Senator Ubah confirmed the visit, highlighting the urgency with which Uchechi sought assistance. He recounted his immediate intervention upon her request, enabling her to meet with her husband alongside their legal counsel. The visit not only provided a moment of connection for the Kanu family but also underscored the ongoing efforts by various stakeholders to address the issue of Nnamdi Kanu’s detention and advocate for his release.
