NLC Transition Committee Storms Labour Party Headquarters, Demands Chairman Abure’s Resignation
Today, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) national transition committee stormed the Labour Party headquarters in Abuja, demanding the immediate resignation of the National Chairman, Julius Abure.
Led by Acting Chairman Aduwaheed Omar, the committee members arrived at the secretariat, chanting solidarity songs and insisting that Abure’s tenure had expired. The scene quickly turned tense as security officials at the headquarters shut the gates to prevent the protesters from entering.
As the crowd attempted to force their way into the premises, police intervened by firing teargas to disperse them. The protesters, undeterred, continued to shout at the security personnel to “open the gate,” underscoring the intensity of the demonstration.
