“Nigerians Are Proud of the Way President Tinubu Was Honoured and Buried” — Akpabio’s Gaffe at Buhari’s Valedictory Session [VIDEO]
Senate President Godswill Akpabio made an eyebrow-raising gaffe during the Senate’s valedictory session held on Wednesday in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
While paying tribute during the special sitting, Akpabio misspoke, saying:
“Nigerians are very proud of the way President Tinubu was honoured and buried.”
The unexpected remark immediately stirred murmurs across the chamber. Realising the slip, Akpabio quickly corrected himself:
“President Buhari, Sorry.”
The moment, caught clearly on video, is now circulating online — sparking a mix of reactions ranging from laughter to sharp commentary on the sensitivity of public speech, especially in high offices.
