Nigerian Woman Mauled to Death by Dogs in Italy
A 27-year-old Nigerian woman, Patricia Masithela, tragically died after being attacked by a pack of starving dogs in Latina, Italy. The incident occurred late on Monday night while Patricia was visiting an abandoned villa in the Lazio region.
According to reports, Patricia had gone to the property to see a male acquaintance, unaware that he was not at home. Her screams during the brutal attack alerted neighbors, who discovered her lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries inflicted by the dogs.
Police responded to the scene, shooting two of the dogs to allow emergency responders access, while the remaining animals fled after the gunfire. Despite being rushed to Santa Maria Goretti Hospital, Patricia succumbed to her injuries and severe blood loss.
Patricia, a recent immigrant to Lazio from Nigeria and the mother of a five-year-old daughter, has left her family and loved ones in deep grief. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities working to determine how the reportedly starving dogs came to be in the area.
