Nigerian Supreme Court Fixes Date to Review Obi, APM Appeals Against Tinubu’s Victory

The Nigerian Supreme Court is set to examine the appeals lodged by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) on Monday, October 23, 2023. This significant hearing follows the dismissal of both appeals by the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC), which previously affirmed the triumph of Bola Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on September 6, 2023.

Hearing notifications have been dispatched to the legal representatives of the concerned parties, ensuring their presence during this crucial legal proceeding.

Peter Obi’s appeal encompasses an extensive 51 grounds of argument, where he asserts that Justice Haruna Tsammani, who led the PEPC, committed errors in dismissing his petition and striking out vital testimonies presented by his witnesses.

Notably, the Nigerian Supreme Court is poised to address all appeals stemming from the verdicts of the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) on the same day, consolidating this momentous legal event into a single date on the judicial calendar.
