Nigerian Lawmaker Dies in His Sleep
The Zamfara State House of Assembly is in mourning following the sudden death of Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar-Daji, the member representing Kaura Namoda South Constituency. The lawmaker reportedly passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Wednesday, April 9.
His death has deeply shaken the state, prompting an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and constituents. The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) described the late Kasuwar-Daji as a dedicated, honest, and God-fearing leader who served his people with unwavering commitment.
In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, the APC State Working Committee, executives, and supporters expressed their grief, acknowledging the significant contributions of the late lawmaker both within the state assembly and in broader humanitarian efforts.
Condolences have been extended to his family, the people of Kaura Namoda South, and fellow lawmakers. Prayers were offered for his soul, with the hope that he finds eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and that his loved ones are granted the strength to bear the loss.
Hon. Kasuwar-Daji will be laid to rest today at 3:00 pm in his hometown of Kasuwar-Daji, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
