Nigerian government insists no NIN/Sim linkage extension
Barring last-minute changes, the Federal Government appears to be going ahead with the January 20 deadline given for the linkage of the National Identity Number, NIN, with Sim registration for all Nigerians and residents of the country.
In a statement released by the Director, Public Affairs of the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, Ikechukwu Adinde, 47.8 million NINs have been collected by mobile operators at an average of three to four Sims per subscriber.
