Nigerian Government Declares Man Wanted for Alleged Rape of Daughter, Offers N1 Million Bounty

The Nigerian government has announced a N1 million bounty for information leading to the capture of Magnus Okpalannadi, 62, who is accused of raping his three-year-old daughter. The announcement was made by Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, through a statement issued on Wednesday by ministry spokesperson, Grace Njoku.

Okpalannadi, a resident of Onitsha, Anambra State, reportedly fled after the alleged abuse was discovered. The minister emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on child abuse and molestation, promising swift prosecution to deter future offenders.

“The President Bola Tinubu-led administration has zero tolerance for child abuse and molestation. We will ensure the immediate prosecution of the pedophile to serve as a deterrent to would-be perpetrators,” Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye said. She also reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a safe environment for all citizens and protecting the rights and dignity of every Nigerian child, woman, and vulnerable person.
