Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has addressed her recent removal from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, expressing her continued commitment to serving Nigeria.

On Wednesday, President Tinubu made significant changes to his cabinet, dismissing five ministers, including Kennedy-Ohanenye, Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development), Tahir Mamman (Education), and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (State Minister for Housing and Urban Development).

In a statement released on Thursday, Kennedy-Ohanenye expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, describing her time in the cabinet as an “honor and privilege” to contribute to Nigeria’s development. She also acknowledged the support of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whom she credited for her “invaluable guidance and support” during her tenure.

“To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration,” Kennedy-Ohanenye stated. Despite her dismissal, she affirmed her ongoing dedication to the nation’s progress, adding, “I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity.”
