Nigerian Gang Arrested for Armed Robbery in Kuwait
Kuwaiti authorities have arrested two Nigerian nationals involved in an armed robbery at a currency exchange office in the Al-Mahboula area. The suspects stole foreign currencies amounting to KD 4,600 (USD 16,500).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the crime was premeditated. Investigations revealed that the gang had been monitoring the exchange office from nearby rooftops and used metal plates to conceal their car’s license plates during the robbery.
Detectives tracked down one of the suspects, who admitted to surveying the location and alerting his partner. The second suspect was later apprehended in the Aswaq Al-Qurain area. During a search of his residence, authorities recovered the stolen money along with a bag of methamphetamine.
The Ministry stated that both suspects have been referred to public prosecution for legal proceedings.
