Nigerian Airforce Strikes IPOB/ESN Hideouts in Anambra, Imo States

In a significant development aimed at dismantling the activities of IPOB/ESN terrorists and ensuring the safety of citizens, the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) conducted precision strikes on two notorious hideouts of the group in Anambra and Imo States. This operation was executed on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, following credible intelligence.

The Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, released a statement highlighting the success of these strikes. He explained that the objective was to disrupt the nefarious activities of IPOB/ESN terrorists while preventing them from carrying out destructive acts and violence against innocent Nigerians.

The first target was Mother Valley Orsumughu in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. It was believed to be a concealed bunker and hideout for IPOB/ESN terrorists planning to disrupt civic activities in the state. The air strikes, carried out in coordination with ground troops and other security agencies, effectively hit the target, causing fleeing terrorists and a ball of fire at the location.

Simultaneously, air strikes were authorized at Aku Ihube in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, where another hideout was located. This operation was based on detailed intelligence analysis of the terrorists converging at the hideout. The strikes were highly successful and inflicted a significant blow to the terrorist group.

The NAF emphasized its commitment, along with other security agencies, to ensure the safety of all Nigerians, regardless of their place of residence. They called for the continued support of the Nigerian population in defeating these criminal elements whose sole purpose is to spread fear and division among the citizens.

These strikes represent a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to counter the activities of IPOB/ESN terrorists and maintain peace and security in the affected regions.
