The Nigerian Bar Association has dragged the Buhari administration before a court over the illegal tenure elongation for the Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Adamu.
The Chairman of the NBA Olumide Akpata revealed this is a press release today. He tweeted the details of the release as follows:
The NBA by this action, seeks judicial determination of the constitutionality of the purported extension of Mr Adamu’s tenure as IGP for 3 months after Mr. Adamu had, on 1 Feb 2021, attained 35 years of service as a member of the @PoliceNG as stipulated under the Police Act 2020.— Olumide Akpata (@OlumideAkpata) February 12, 2021
