Naira Strengthens Against Dollar, Closes Week on Positive Note
The naira ended the week on a high, recording further gains against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Friday.
Central Bank of Nigeria data revealed that the naira strengthened slightly to ₦1,436.58 per dollar, up from ₦1,436.74 on Thursday, marking a daily gain of ₦0.16.
However, the parallel market saw no change, with the naira holding steady at ₦1,445 per dollar, according to Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau De Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
The modest appreciation at the official market provides a positive end to the week for Nigeria’s currency, though pressures persist in the black market.
