Naira Depreciates Against Dollar Across Official, Black Markets
The naira depreciated against the dollar across both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets, ending the week on a negative note on Friday.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira fell to ₦1,528.56 per dollar on Friday, compared to ₦1,525.83 on Thursday — a depreciation of ₦2.73.
Similarly, in the black market, the naira weakened to ₦1,570 per dollar on Friday, down from ₦1,560 the previous day.
Meanwhile, despite the dip at the end of the week naira recorded four consecutive days of appreciation earlier in the week.
