NAF Air Strikes Deal Crushing Blow to Banditry: Over 60 Criminals Eliminated in Katsina

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has delivered a significant blow to bandit operations in Katsina state. Reports indicate that at least 60 bandits were eliminated in a series of precision air strikes carried out by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji in the Kankara area.

According to intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, a prominent counter-insurgency publication focusing on the Lake Chad region, the strikes were executed in the eastern part of Kankara on April 15th. The target of the operation was the encampment of Babura, a notorious leader known for terrorizing communities in Kankara, Malumfashi, Funtua, and Bakori.

While Babura managed to evade the strikes, the military recovered 36 motorcycles from the targeted camp, indicating a significant disruption to the bandits’ operations.

This recent success comes on the heels of another impactful operation just two days prior, where NAF troops conducted an air strike in Kolleram village, Borno state. In that operation, over 30 fighters belonging to the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) were neutralized, including three high-ranking commanders.

The coordinated efforts of Operation Hadarin Daji and other security initiatives underscore the commitment of the Nigerian military to rid the country of criminal elements and restore peace and security to affected regions.
